Was in town today for doc appointment for the wife. While sitting there got to talking with a old guy. He had to be in his 90's and kept me laughing to myself the entire time. Oh the storys he told. Said he was in the CCC back in his younger days up in Montana and they did a snake roundup. Told me they built a fence in the shape of a V with a big pit on the narrow end. They then got in line and herded any snake in that fenced area into that pit then threw in some gas and burned them up. Also I didn't know there were Coral snakes in Michigan that had fangs two inches long but he told me of one he ran over on the road. Never heard of the 14 ft long rattle snake in Florida either but he seen a picture of it from back in the 20's. Got to love these old guys and the storys they tell knowing that for the most part are made up. I just sit there and smiled till they called him back. The wife said she kept waiting on me to call BS but I never did, just let him tell his tales and enjoyed every minute of it.

Thats cool! I spoke to an old man one time that said he was one of the first GI's to go across the Rhine River bridge in Germany in WWII. I could have listened to him talk for hours.

I worked in a small office in Fl years back, maybe 40 people in the whole place and 20 in the part I worked in. One guy had been at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked, at the air field. Another guy had been on Okinawa when the japanese surrendered, had a picture in his wallet of the plane they came in on. How is that for two people out of 20.
