I have a couple of friends who are firearm enthusiasts, owning impressive and hard to find weapons in various calibers and choose to build their on ARs because they are snobs about parts and accessories. Every time I hang out with these guys, conversation always turns to ballistics, red dot scopes, and general firearm geekdom. Interesting thing is, none of these guys have never hunted a day in their lives, yet they hit me up for game meat incessantly. If word gets out that I brought home a turkey, there is a line at the front dorr to have some Wild Turkey gumbo.
So, after much ridicule about their expensive collections of "range guns" and nothing to show for it and, after suggesting time and time again that they should go hunting, even if only for small game where its not a huge commitment, the idea was always dismissed when they were reminded that they had to take the Hunter's Safety Course for a day and a half. Afterall, "That's like going to driver's ed classes for too many speeding tickets."
Well, I finally roped them in. I sent them a listing of the local class schedules and managed to get them all registered. So, if you see a couple of city boys out in the field with high end firepower, you can thank me. I did my recruiting for the year, now it is time to get back to business
