I love going, just gotta share with the snakes, they're just after frogs too.

I'm with you on that. When they have plenty of space and water to slither away into, they don't seem to be very aggressive. If you come across them when they are cornered or, worse, step on one, they will of course react differently. The snakes I saw last night just moved on away whenever I got close.

Give it a shot. You can get the spear point at Bass Pro for $3. Then just stop by Home Depot and get you a pole. Drill a hole through, put a screw in and add some super glue and you're ready for action.

In M-boro, I'd just hit up some shallow stretches and backwaters of the Stones River.

We always went with 22 hollow points. You may lose one every now and then, but I usually got a lot more than I lost. We would float the Duck River. Been many moons ago since I have been.

Nothing like easing along in the dark with a gig and a light and feeling something give your snake-proof chaps a nice, hard thump.

We carried a gig and a 22 used the rifle on the hard to reach frogs. The short hollow points worked great. Not sure if that's legal, this was also years ago. I'd have to check the regs on it.

Carlos, I asked a TWRA officer a few years ago, and he said it was legal, as long as it was within the actual Bull Frog season. I am assuming it is still legal and haven't read anywhere in the handbooks where it is illegal. If any Officers on here wants to verify that info, please do.
