Anyone have smartphones? Any particular model to avoid? Any pros/cons about smartphones? Any pros/cons about Android OS? My contract is up soon with AT&T and I'm thinking about getting a smartphone...possibly with AT&T, possibly with another carrier. Just wanted to get some input.

I'd recommend not getting the slide out keyboard. I have that on my G2 and just never use it. The swype on the screen works faster/better than typing on the keyboard IMO. Go for a bigger screen instead.
If I was on ATT I'd get the Motorola Atrix 4g. T-Mobile has the G2x now that doesn't have the slider keyboard and is thinner with a bigger screen than my G2.

I was AT@T from 1991 until May of this year, I now am with Verizon and have the droid x, best change I have made lately, AT@T just sucks in my area, plus I can tether my droid to my computer without paying extra

Verizon and Droid X here. Best coverage in my opinion and love the Droid!
I have a friend who had the I-Phone 3Gs and the Droid X...says the X is better and easier to use and more free apps availiable for the Droid.

Anything Android based. I recommend Verizon due to 3G coverage (Soon to be 4G LTE coverage). I'll be switching to Verizon soon for this very reason.
Samsung and HTC make excellent phones. If I were buying today it would be between the Droid X2, Samsung Charge and HTC Thunderbolt.

Droid X2 for work and Droid Inc for personal use. Only other one I have tried is the Black Berry Storm 2, stay away from it. Slow internet and didnt last long. I'm on Verizon network as well.

i have the x as well and its the best phone ive ever had, until i buy the new htc incredible 2
