If no kids and so forth maybe going back to college would be an option. Or if you have a degree in Something of that sort maybe looking into the college sports world alot of the small colleges hire strength coaches that nutrition and training would come to play. And if so that could lead to better college job offers. I would imagine even in a NAIA school that something like that would pay 50 grand a year. Just guessing. But on another note if you do something that you are not enjoying, then your will be misearable all the time and in turn making it harder on your marriage and life. Don't get me wrong. Like my job, I really enjoy it but it is really hard on my wife as I am hardly ever at home and she has to take on the responsiblity of mom and dad alot of times with 4 kids. But it pays better than just about any job in our area with out a college degree. Luckily she is a great woman and understands that. A 2 year degree in Physical Therapy (Physical Therapist Assistant) will pay 50K to 60K a year starting out.

If you like the work, perhaps a career in physical therapy might be a more steady line of work for you. It may require some college time for a piece of paper, but all aspects of the health care industry are going straight up.
If nothing works beyond that, I'd be a little concerned about hitching my wagon to what is honestly a fly-by-night line of work. Anyone can open a shop in a strip mall and lease some workout equipment. But the overhead is high, and the income can vary greatly. I would continue the personal training as a side gig, while pursuing something more steady.
What area of TN?
Memphis to answer your first question. I have a degree in Finance.

And those programs are extremely competitive so get ready to fight for it.

Being a college strength coach is a lot of politics and BS. You'd have to start off as a graduate assistant and hopefully get to know some people in the industry. There is absolutely no guarantee with it and I know the pay is not that good unless it's a bigger school.

Yep, but Almost any hospital and any nursing home has openings for them.

If you are loving what you do. 30k is good money to start. I have worked my entire adult life. My Mom did, too. That does not mean that my husband or my Dad are selfish. You are putting too much stock in what a lazy, selfish woman told you. She is probably mad because everything has not been handed to her and she's not living like a rich woman.

So, you're 24 years old, no kids, on track to make 30k a year, and only 2 months into the job, and a Germantown trophy wife causes you to have a success crisis?
If training/nutrition is your passion, then figure out a way to capitalize more off of it. Maybe you should start a side business. Maybe you should start two side businesses. Take advantage of your present situation to set yourself up for later. I'm not implying that you should be content with what you have, but you're certainly not doing poorly.

I know that. I'm very thankful for what I have. I have earned everything for y wife and myself. I just don't want to be 35 and realize my job provides no benefits and is not sufficient...therefore forcin my wife and I into a difficult position. Its close to time to decide whether to live a low stress life doing something I enjoy or do something I most likely will not enjoy and make more money and be stressed.

Personal training and nutrition is a great thing. But to the "average person" it is considered disposable income. (Hint: economy.) Consider the target martket and what there is (and will be) demand for.
Do what you enjoy and think long term.
