I'd say you handled it better than some people (me included) would have. Customer or not, there is a boundary of personal space that should not be crossed. He'll get over it...might take a while, but he'll get over it.

You did fine. I agree with others, much better than I would have.
I try to always be nice and not be overaggressive/combative. However, getting in my face is a one time deal breaker with me.
Just something I will not tolerate.

I had an employee who was a bit hard of hearing who would move into your "space" like that. After a bit I learned to stand with one foot forward to kep him back a bit...you did fine this just reminded me of that.
