Hey guys this up coming season is going to be only my second hunting season. I had no luck last year but I didn't get into it until about a month before the season opened. I was wondering what and when you guys did to better your luck during the months leading up to the season. For example: when do you guys start putting out feeders? When do you start putting out cameras? What else do I need to do in the months leading up and when do I start? Thanks for all help in advance. I have learned alot from you guys

Actually, I try to stay out of the area leading up to opening of the season. But you have to scout I know. Cameras won't help you take a deer, only help to show what is out there. Keeping your scent to a minimum around your hunting area is paramount imo.

A ctually, it all depends on how large the area you hunt is. tracts of land over 2500 acres never stop getting scouted. A 100 acre farm with 60 yards in field or pasture can be scouted quite well in a couple hours. All that remains is keeping track of emerging food sources and placing stands accordingly.

If you put feeders out to facilitate taking pictures, then removed prior to the season as the law requires, you run the chances of altering the deer's travel patterns.

Odds are, being your first full year, half way through the season you will decide to move every single stand. I always do \:\)
