I used to make wine out of every fruit there was. Everything will ferment but some convert to a higher alcohol content. Deer eat all the fruits in the wild. I wonder if it's possible that if they don't find a tree, bush, or vine until after some of the fruit has fallen and started to ferment that when they do hit it they catch a little buzz.

YES! I have seen them drun as a skunk on fermented sorghum and millet. Fileds flooded, sun came out=drunk deer.

I've seen birds get goofy eating wild cherries...hanging upside down from the branches and flopping around.

The farmer I use to work for had several ducks that would get so drunk from drinking the juice from the silo full of chopped corn that you would have to get off the tractor, pick them up and move them out of your way because they couldn't walk. A few of the feedlot cattle would also drink some of it and pretty goofy.

I ahve seen birds get so drunk off of wild cherries they couldn't fly or even walk for that matter. See hogs get drink of the skimmings from making cane syrup too.

Don't know if they still do this or not but the distilleries in Ky used to sell the left over mash to hog farmers for feed. Lot's of drunk hogs laying around one place we used to drive past. Makes me think of pickled pig's feet.
