Or else! Basal Cell Carcinoma removed yesterday from the base of my neck! I have been seeing a Dermatologist every year for about three years. Told this was benign. Saw his PA this time who biopsied it! Will keep fishing, just make some changes!

My brother has had the same thing. He's had 3 removed in the last 5 years. I NEVER go outside any more without sunscreen, 100% sunblock for the back of my neck and nose and 70% for my face. I also use 50%-70% on my arms and legs.

We fish in aluminum boat during the heat of the summer all day. If I had all that on I would die from heat stroke anyway. I am a believer and user of sunscreen though. Still get some sun but only a little at a time.

Sunscreen is must for all of us in the outdoor world. Lost my sister last year July 24 after a 2 year battle with stage 4 melanoma. Its a very sneaky cancer and they just had a drug called Ippilubun approved by FDA couple months back but its has not been very promising. Cover up and protect yourself Please! Best of luck to ya tnjimbo I will be praying for you

I wear the Buff now, but the jacket was worn because we had a 5mile run back to a boat lauch in 50 degree weather back in November while in Beaufort SC on a redfish week. Buffs are not that hot.

Prayers for you TNJimbo. Is that interferon that they have you on? years ago that was showing some promise with malignant melanoma. Will pray for you this week as I look at this thing in the mirror.

Sort of know about this. I've had 9 or 10 or so removed. Lost count. All basal and squamous cell skin cancers. No melanomas. In fact, I'm having another basal cell cut out next week. Also have done the fluoracil treatment twice, once 1 % and once 5 %, both on my face, lots and lots of "fun".The treatment starts with red irritated places and ends with sores all over. This did eliminate a surgery and several precancerous tumor removals with liquid nitrogen. Used to average about 20+ liquid nitrogen freezings per visit. I'm supposed to go get checked every quarter.
My first removal was the worst, behind my ear. Had to do a skin graft. Usually insurance won't pay for a graft as they call it cosmetic but doc had to fill a "hole" with mine so ins paid. This was about 18 years ago and no reccurence.
I do use sunscreen but hate the stuff but use it anyway. Most of them have alcohol and it evaporates and gets in my eyes and burns like crazy.
I also use a cap with flaps and even facemasks. Better than getting cut on!
Prevention is the best medicine!!
Too Much Info For Now!! Ray
