It's not my money but... if it was, I would stay with the cheap ones. There's not enough difference in the cut to justify the difference in price to me. Keep the blade sharp and keep pushing.


Other than that, Honda is the way to go if you must have a nicer mower.

I bought the mower I have less than a year ago, it was the cheapest push mower that Lowes had, and I am far from satisfied. The motor cuts in and out, it does a lousy job cutting the grass, and it sometimes the throttle runs low.(there is no throttle adjustment) The cheap mower is not making me happy, about the only thing that would make me happy with it is to see what a few rounds of 00 buck do to it at about 15 feet.

Just replaced my old honda mower with a new one. Got the one they have on sale for $399. I mow 6 yards a week with it and bag some and mulch the rest. I've had several other brands but will stick with the honda. My old one finally got to the point where I can't keep the drive belt on, but the motor still runs like new and starts everytime on the 1st pull. Bought it used from a friend 2 years ago and it's mowed more grass in those 2 years than most mowers ever see in a life time. Best mower I've ever ran when bagging and sometimes the grass gets pretty tall in a couple yards I mow and would plug my other mower.

bought a troybuilt last year,im thinking it has a briggs motor on it,garenteed to start 1st pull for 2 years,so far it hasnt missed a lick.never had 1 that started this good.big wheels on back & self propeled,the discharge is picky on wet grass,it came with a mulching cover
