Savings???

You are only here once...spend it while you can...you can't take it with you!

My dad retired at 62. He was debt free. He and my mother went on a cruise.

Only 7 months after he retired...he died of a heart attack.

Just sayin...spend it don't hoard it for a rainy day, for it may never come!

I can't understand this thinking. I mean I have fun but I definately save so that I don't have to go ask someone for something. Living from paycheck to paycheck puts you one bad day away from needing help.

If I die with money in the bank, I'll hopefully have kids, or my brother or a spouse that will need/appreciate the stability.

Hahaaahaa...yeah right!

I'm not leaving my wife and her new boyfriend 500k to celebrate me being gone.

He can work for it like I did!

Flip, your folks never helped you out? Down payment on a car, apartment, food, etc.?

You are looking to blow $500K, thinking that's your legacy?

Your wife's new boyfriend?? Whether she has a boyfriend or not after you die, do you not want her to be self sustained, or do you not care?

Really strange how you think, or live your life.

It's all yours. Not hers, not a bit? Really wierd.

Ha, ha, ha.

You are exactly as I thought. It's all about you...

You are exactly correct!

It is about me. I/we have no debt. What she does after I'm gone has absolutley nothing to do with me.

I do have a trust fund setup for my daughter, but other than that everyone is on there own.

Further more...she has been with her employer for 24 years. We have been married for 21 years.

We as a married couple have for 21 years have had hers and mine.
Might be a hard concept for some to grasp...but it works for us. What we have since we have been married what we have gained is ours...what we had before we were married is hers and mine.

If one of us wants to make a major purchase...we do WITHOUT consulting the other. We do and always have had separate bank accounts.

Do not judge me and my spouse based on you and your spouse...because it is different.

Since WE do not owe for anything...there is ABSOLUTELY no reason for either of us to compensate the other by death.

My child is and will be taken care of after I die...that is my ONLY concern.

Now that I stepped off my soapbox...you can ride your high horse on into the sunset.

That's funny, right there.
You gonna need a couple buckets of KFC and 10 ply tires on the passenger side for them chicks. \:D

This is true and I do feel a little bad about some of the words I chose to use.

BUT...everytime I click a topic that I have previously posted in, my character, morals, how I choose to live MY life are belittled by a certain poster and it has gotten old.
