I have been suffering from vertigo for the last two days. Unable to get out of bed other than to use the toilet and that was a struggle. It is better today, but man, I feel sorry for anyone that ever has a bout with this...it is some bad stuff.
Sort of feels like sea or air sickness with head spinning. I didn't vomit any , but sure felt like i could have.
Not sure what caused it, just know that once it is gone, I don't want it again, that's for sure.
I feel the lingering effects, but much much better today.

Sorry to hear that for you. I have had it twice but both times were horrible. Both times it hit me in early morning when I was trying to get out of bed to go to restroom. I actually fell both times while trying to walk and had to crawl to bathroom. I did throw up everytime I tried to stand. Doc at urgent care clinic could not find reason for the problem but gave me some pills that took care of it.
Really sucks to have that. I cannot imagine what would happen if it hit while I was driving.
Sure hope you get over it quickly.

I had it for the first and last time so far in mid 80's. I was at home with my young son and could not get up at all.
Ended up being taken by ambulance to Baptist East Hospital ER and was there for several hours. Excessive wax build up in left ear caused it is what they said and proved it when they cleaned it out.
Have to clean out both ears regularly ever since. Never said what caused the build up like that.
I could not stand up for a second and nobody there at the time (son and father-in-law)could lift my 6-2/275 lb. self to the car.
Worse feeling I have ever had, totally unable to help myself at all.
Best wishes and prayers for quick recovery.

Might be due to a sinus infection.. I had it at work a while back, and couldn't even hold my head up without the room spinning, and nausea. I got carted off to the hospital and went through a bunch of tests to find I had fluid in my inner ear. BTW i'm not a dr. but I do pretend to be one.

No symptoms at all before it hit me. No infections, flu or virus symptons, nothing, just woke up on friday and could not get out of bed........Got some medication and doing better now, but not 100%.
I've been reading up on vertigo and it could mean alot of things, some pretty scary.
I hope this is my only bout with this stuff....it does indeed suck.
thanks

I had two vertigo episodes a few years back due to drinking Red Bull; something in it just didn't agree with me.
Hard to describe how bad that feeling is; just thankful I was at home and not driving when both occurred.
Good luck, BH.

Vertigo sucks!! Have had it a couple times. Have a friend who has Minears Disease, he would get vertigo so fast and so bad he could not drive at night. Hope you feel better soon.

My bet is inner ear problem. I have been fighting a form of it for five years except,I just fall. Legs turn to water and down I go. Hasn't Happened in almosy a year. July will be a year since the last attack.
I know for a fact, it is a baitch. Go see a doc. Can be something really serious.

BH, mine started the same way... no warning. They did a CT scan of my head, xrays, and blood tests. A nurse also told me that some people can get a non malignant growth in the inner ear which can cause vertigo, and that it can be easily removed.
