So my son, who you may remember from two weeks ago when his car wouldn't start while he was two hours away up in Knoxville, had to get some of his college stuff out of storage and brought home.
So he drives two hours away up to Knoxville to get it. Why? Two reasons: 1) that's where his stuff is, and 2) nothing can be easy.
He calls an hour ago to say he's sorry but someone pulled out and hit him. He's not at fault, and the damage isn't too bad, and the vehicle appears driveable.
The vehicle, by the way, is my truck 
On a good day my little truck has issues. Didn't need any more customization.
Calls back just now to say that apparently something got messed up, because the truck won't run. It started twice but died right away, and now it won't crank. I guess the guy that hit him is there trying to help, but if he's anything like my son, or me for that matter, there's probably not much gonna happen on fixing the truck.
  
He's got a wedding up there to attend, but guess I'll be driving up there to poke and prod at the truck later, and one way or another, will be driving us home. And then next week, driving us right back up to Knoxville again. LOL guess I should be glad it's only 2 hours away!
Hope they won't total my baby. She's only 17 years old!!

His is getting towed, but from what I understand the physical damage doesn't look too awful. It just won't run.

That's right! My old girl was pulled off a renovated gas station car lot run by middle-easterners. Had been wrecked, robbed, repo'ed, and "repaired". No cloth, no carpet, no radio, no a/c, no passenger side mirror. Had 15k on her in '98, and I gladly handed over $4200.
I moved here and survived 3 summers before I paid another grand to put A/C in. Added an eBay tonneau cover when I got tired of people stealing groceries out of the bed if I'd park in public.
I was rear-ended by a college girl who knew every cop that arrived to the scene, and lied to me about having insurance. I was rear-ended by the preacher's wife in the church parking lot.
It runs poorly, the dash trim has fallen off, the paint is too far gone to ever shine again. I've hauled every single TN deer I've ever killed in the bed of that truck.
Come on baby! Pull through!!

Judging by the pic. the truck MAY NOT be ok to drive. Appears that the rear end is shifted forward.... be careful.

I'll caution him to triple check things. Doesn't eyeball bad to me because either I know the truck pretty well or I'm ignert. I know where my money is.
It's it's riding poorly at all, I'm telling him to park it.

Glad your son's ok, not sure about the old truck. Usually, if it's totaled, you can take the payoff less salvage & keep it.

Any ideas yet as to why she wont run? Is there a fuel pump re-set on these Yotas like used to be on the Fords of that time frame? They would take a lick and it would pop the circut, reset it and away you went.

No idea yet. I didn't end up going to Knoxville last night. He had a place to stay the night, and is gonna check it this morning. If it won't run, then I'll have to get up there this afternoon real quick to get him, then back for youth stuff tonight at church. If there's some sort of reset, I'll be back for advice on how to recognize it.
