A 15-year-old Washington State girl is accused of shooting her dad with a hunting bow after he took her cellphone away, police say.
Mason County cops responded Wednesday around 8 p.m. after they received a 911 call from the seriously injured father.
Det. William Adam said the 35-year-old man was forced to drive nearly half a kilometre to the nearest neighbour's residence for help because the girl apparently didn't allow him to call an ambulance from home.
"He was doing normal parental discipline," Adam said.
The father alleges the teen shot him with an arrow in the torso after he took away her cellphone and grounded her.
Adam said the father was airlifted to a nearby Seattle hospital in serious-to-critical condition and underwent major surgery to remove the arrow.
The girl was arrested early Thursday in the woods behind her home. She's charged with first-degree assault.
She is in a children's hospital in Tacoma for the treatment of "serious medical conditions," Adam said.

That is awful. I heard the tail end of it on the news but didnt know if he made it or not.

I wonder what the "serious conditions" are that she's being treated for? Just wondering if he got in some more "normal discipline" before he left to find medical treatment?
Probably the mental strain of not having her way.
I am sure some idiot group will make him the bad guy.
He will be lucky if he don't do some time.
