Last time you and BSK were dead on. Thanks for the warning but I hope you are wrong. Tis the year of the twister for sure.

WOW nearly 125 dead and an astonishing 1,500 people still uncounted for in Joplin.
1,500 just sounds impossible. I hope that number is wrong.

have a friend from on online list - The Nova List- I've been a member there for since 1999 I think, it's a bunch of crazy car nuts - but an awesome bunch - each year members of the list get together at different town across the country to BS and race their cars - a few years back it was in Joplin - hosted by a member that lives there -
This morning, when I came in and logged into my email - this was the first one - I wanted to share - Jake Webb's first hand accounting of his trip to Joplin yesterday:
Quote:
I just returned from Joplin. I was helping a friend (who has lost is wife and 1 year old boy in the tornado) collect what belongings we could from what was left of his house. We found his cat alive and wandering around the first floor of the house, which was now about 3 feet tall from floor to ceiling. None of the walls were walls any longer. Not a single one. We were able to find many of the important little things he was after. Unfortunately, we found his little dog crushed in what was left of his bedroom. It was really heart wrenching pulling out all of his little boys toys and clothes, etc...
I can't even begin to describe what it is like in the middle of all of that. The smell of gas leaks, water lines still spilling water from inside foundations, birds flying around confused about where to land, full sized trucks twisted into pretzels like they were made of aluminum foil, folks walking up and down streets trying to find loved ones. Just overwhelming. Where does a person even begin. So many hurting people. Most still seem like they are in a daze. I felt kind of like we were all running in limp mode... just functioning. I'm still trying to process things.
Please keep praying for folks, if you are so inclined.
Jake W.
Unquote -
Folks - I humbly ask that you continue to send knee mail -
Dear Lord, I come humbly before You this morning, and ask that You be with all of these folks, and the many more that are in need today, not only in Joplin, but other areas of the US as the weather continues to show us who really is boss. And be with those that will need You tomorrow as well, as we brace for another onslot of weather tonight and tomorrow. In Jesus' name I pray -
Amen
