anyone that has visited this area, please tell me all you know or offer any advice that you would want if you were going there for the first time...

we are planning a trip in September and plan to drive around the area and stay in certain areas for no more than two days each...

any points of interest and MUST SEES will be appreciated...

thanks so much...

Would make suggestions but its been too many years. Old Faithful is a MUST see as well as many of the waterfalls, Fairy Falls, Fireholle Falls and Gibbon Falls are some of the popular ones. Lower Falls is a MUST also...there is so much there to see its almost overwhelming. Enjoy it you are going there in the perfect time of year. I went over the continental divide once in August and it was SNOWING!!!

The thing that can suck about Yellowstone is the traffic. If there is a squirrel on the side of the road, there will be a traffic jam since every car will stop to take pictures.

Absolute must: binocs for every member of the family! Borrow some! Get up early and get out and hit the road early before everyone else is up and out.......you will see so much more wildlife feeding out............Lamar Valley wolves are a traffic jam......go early and get a jump on the crowds....I mean early, as in early.......about 99.9% of all Yellowstone visitors NEVER LEAVE THE ROAD........get your backpacks and bear spray and hit the trails...........September you will have bull elk bugling up a storm.........just don't do anything stupid off trail and give bison and bear plenty of space......
