I'm wondering if this guy's next move is to wear his gun in and out of local places of business waiting for one to stop him at the door or refuse him service while he has a gun strapped to his side......the court system is backed up enough without every little jerk with an attitude suing a place of business because they wouldn't serve him or allow him to carry on their property.

This guy is a jerk and needs to be told what to do because it is evident that he likes to cause trouble and doesn't have enough common sense to know after other issues with the openly carried gun that the cops aren't too fond of the idea, as well they shouldn't be.

He was using the gun, NOT for protection, but for a means to get on youtube and in the news. His carry permit should be revoked, imo.

X3 I especially agree with your statement of 55% of cops being corrupt ludicrous maybe 1-3 percent.

I know a lot of cops and admit that generally when they start their careers they tend to be a bit cocky, but after a year or two they mellow out. Its a stressful job...If I were a cop I would do whatever I thought I needed to do to go home safely everyday.

One other thing people fail to understand is that having a permit and carrying a firearm ELEVATES our moral and legal need to find ways to avoid and escape rather than go looking for a fight. This is the THIRD time this guy had a run in with the cops while openly carrying and two of those times he had a tape running. He was LOOKING for a fight, a fight with the cops.

This guy got exactly what he was looking for, a conflict with cops over his open carrying WITH HIS RECORDER RUNNING.

The prosecutor got it right, he saw though this guys BS and saw what he had been trying to do several times so he is giving him his day in court. If it costs this guy thousands it was what he was asking for.

maybe 1-3% nationwide. here, 55% is too low. the former sheriff is a convicted felon. cheif deputy is/was under indictment for extortion. there are only 3 cops on LCPD that i would consider good cops. the rest are crooks. if you have an accident in lenoir city, request a state trooper.

Good post, Rutman!

Did the cops overreact? Probably. Is this kid--who has two prior incidents with police--completely innocent in this? Probably not.

Sure, the kid is legal to carry openly. We don't know exactly what went down in the store. Was the kid being a smart-alek? Was the cop being a jerk? This will be interesting when it goes to court.
