We got home this morning from Vandy about 6am. Here is the story, my wife was riding a horse SHE (I am not a horse fan) bought for our youngest daughter and the horse just broke to a wide open run for some reason. She couldn't get her to stop at all, run the distance of about 2 football fields wide open then when she got to the fence, 5 strands of barb wire, she never slowed down.
When I got to her (I was in the barn lot unhooking the box blade from the tractor) I knew it was going to be bad and it was. She was cut all over, right arm obviously broke and back of her head busted open bad. I tied my shirt around her head run to the house and got the truck loaded her up and headed to the ER.
I kept talking to her making her stay awake till i got there. Once there they took her in started cleaning her up and doing x-ray's and a CAT scan on her head. As soon as the DR read the CAT scan he told me they were life fligting her to Vandy because she did have some slight brain bleeding. I had done good till that point then the life just come out of me, kinda like getting hit in the stomach with a sledgehammer.
After gathering myself back up I waited till the copter left with her then headed to Nashville, longest drive to Nashville I ever had. Once there trama was doing there job and would let me know something as soon as possible.
After several hours the news was alot better than I expected. The brain bleed was slight and they were monitoring it, right arm broke above the wrist, shoulder seperated, collar bone broke, 6 staples in her head and cuts all over her from the barb wire.
I told her this morning SAVE A HORSE RIDE A HARLEY DAVIDSON and she just kinda grunted at me. Thanks for the prayers, appreciate it alot.

Wow what a lot of damage from a simple fence. So glad to hear she seems to be doing good now for the shape she is in, you'all be careful.
