but mainly ended up just letting them taste the bait and not bite it...I had about 10 hits on a fluke on top water and could not set the hook on any...what lures do you guys use on the TN River....I have no fish finder so I am basically guessing where they are...any suggestions for a beginning river fisherman? This is why I stick to the creeks!

Pinch about a half inch off a zoom trick worm in green pumpkin or watermelonseed color on a 3/16 Spot Remover Shakyhead with 8 lb fluorocarbon line & you'll catch all the bass you wanna catch.
Any kind of tree top in the water or stump or poles to docks. Pitch the shakyhead & work it slow, fluorocarbon line is the key though. Good Luck & God Bless.
