Does anyone have or know someone that has a safe in the garage? I am still in the market for one and the one I like most so far is to big to fit in any of my closets. Im not really woried about someone seeing it, I have that problem covered allready but Im more worried about the heat/cold of the seasons and moisture in the safe. I know they have those things to keep the moisture out but is that all I would need to keep my guns in safe shape? Thanks for any info

I have one in the garage, and have a couple of items inside to keep the moisture out. A golden rod, and a box of some sort. No problems so far for mine.

Mine is in the garage. Put a rod

so just put a dehumidifier rod in it and I should be fine? I am planning on building a wall around it to make it look like a cabinet and shelves and maybe insulating it like your home walls.

Bolt it to the floor. Breaking down part of a wall isn't going to take any time at all. Then 2 guys and an appliance Dolly can do what they want with it. Once it leaves your Garage it doesn't matter if they get into it or not. Chances are you will never see your guns again.

They are also 100% easier to break into when lying on the ground.

Mines in the garage. I keep about a pound of silica gel in a bowl. It will absorb any moisture in the safe. It can be also be reused, just put it in the oven on low heat for about 15 minutes occasionally, to dry it out. I have never had any rust or mold problems.

A cheap safe bolted to the foundation and or a wall provides better theft protection than ANY un-bolted safe.

I am planning on bolting it, The wall is just to hide it from anyone driving/walking down the road.

Same here. I have a rod type electric dehumidifier and a " can " that I got from Cabela's that you reheat in the oven every so often when the beads in the top change from blue to pink. No problems at all.
