I got one about 3 weeks ago where I had to pull the little bastage out and it is still a little itchy today. All of the swelling (which was about like a slightly larger than normal mosquito bite) has left, but still itches a little. I guess it just depends...

man, I get an attached tick off of me at least 2 or 3 times a week. I guess it just comes with living out in the sticks.
they do itch
I've resorted to spraying the yard and woodline with 50 gallons of malathion. But they still encroach. The recent flood brought us a fresh batch of hungry ticks.

Sounds just like mine. All you can do is keep an eye on it. If it's not getting bigger by now I'd think it's fine. Just needs a little more time to heal. I hate them dang things!
After that one every time I set out turkey hunting I hosed down with OFF like something crazy....

I can still see or feel the bite site of one from the middle of March. It was swollen and itched for a long time.
I called my doctor about it within a couple of days, and he did want to check it out. I was given a week or so of doxycillen. With Lymes, southern tick, etc. diseases out there tick bites aren't something to ignore. The cost of treating Lymes desease on down the road is astronomical compared with the cost of a doctors visit and early antibiotics.

That stuff is scary...My wife is a PA so I will have her keep an eye on it and bring me some drugs home!
