I need a good knife sharpener don't want to drop a lot of money just looking for something to put a good edge on. Never been the greatest at sharpening knives. Anyone got any opinions?

I bought an "Edgemaker" from the local hardware store on a whim. It works great.

I pretty much suck at it because I'm not patient enough to sit down and do it the right way with sharpening stones. I went to Bass Pro a while back and got a $30 electric sharpener. You don't get that professional grade fine edge that you would doing it manually, but it will put a good edge on it in very little time.

Find one of those big security light bulbs that is burned out. Bust the bulb and get the ceramic stick out of it..... works pretty well and it's cost effective too.

I have used differ types over the years, but my favorite is the RADA. Just a few strokes across the titanium wheels on all hunting or pocket knives and they will shave hair. Cheap!
