Talked with Mrs. Forrest today.
The Forrest Fund has hit $1650! That's awesome, and will be a huge benefit to their daughter and grandson (Li'l Forrest).
Also found out that their daughter started working for a Kangaroo gas station just three days before the tornado, to make ends meet while she looks for employment of a more permanent nature in her field of study. The other day she got a call from Corporate. Kangaroo is giving, to every employee who suffered loss due to the tornadoes, $2000! WHAT? Talk about a blindside blessing! Their daughter said, "but I've only worked here three days!" but they didn't care.
So the plan is that Mrs. Forrest will be holding onto the TNDeer fund against the day when the house is rebuilt and they are ready to move back in, and need help furnishing it. Their living room and kitchen furnishings survived the storm fairly intact, but other stuff, and most everything of Li'l Forrest's, was a loss.
Jeff's church planted a Crape Myrtle in his honor. If Jeff were here to defend himself, I would surely make comment about the similarities between him and something that stands around doing nothing. DOH!
