Great job!!! Tiger lane was nice but I like the river location a lot better. Plus you can head to Beale street if the party slows down.
When my party "slows down", the only place I'm headed to is bed.

Congratulations to Planet Barbecue Inc and TAKAP. Its an honor and an accomplishment to be even mentioned in the top cookers.
Cooper/Young area is close and may be as good as Beale.

I probably had a dozen prople that called me last week wanting to go to Barbeque Fest since it was on Tiger Lane. I'm talking people that have lived here for years and never been. From my experience it would seem a lot more team friendlier as far as loading in and out. Most people that I know have never been because it's a PITA to go down to Tom Lee Park...

back when our team cooked, we started moving in on wednesday and "slowed down" on Saturday after the judging.....
Most time Beale Street came to us...lol!!

Thanks, Hawk! I can't claim any bit of credit for this. All I do to help the team is to pay my dues and diminish the food/beer inventory. The cook team finally got one!

The Cooper/Young area was what I was afraid of. My nephew and his liberal anti-hunting, anti-gun, anti-meat, wife opened up Memphis's first 100% vagen restaurant just a couple weeks ago in that area. When I heard they moved the BBQ Fest to the Tiger Lane I couldn't help but laugh. Still they are doing a good business.

I saw the place a couple weeks ago when we went to pick up our team badges and stuff at Cafe Ole. I was wondering if that was the restaurant you were talking about.
All but maybe two or three restaurants in that area have been going out of business. I wonder if it's just the liberal mentality of that area where people just are trying to operate a business completely contrary to their personal and political views.
