Back to the land of the living.....after years of trying, our team finally made the stage at BBQ Fest. 3rd Place in the Shoulder division!
Fun weekend, and Tiger Lane was surprisingly a FAR better venue than Tom Lee Park.
Oh, and my rack of lamb entry placed 64th out of 79. Not great, but a first-time entry. It tasted great, so I'm thinking they didn't like my presentation. either that, or the 1/2 mile run trying to find the judging booth might've jostled my entry beyond recognition.

I too heard that walking on asphalt was much better than mud....lol.
Any chance they change the place in the future...?

Great job!!! Tiger lane was nice but I like the river location a lot better. Plus you can head to Beale street if the party slows down.

Congrats!!!! I've always wondered if the Tiger lane would be a better place than the riverfront.

There's been a huge amount of support for continued appearances at Tiger Lane. Not sure if the powers that be downtown will allow it to happen.
I would hope they could reach a happy medium....alternate years, perhaps. But the layout of Tiger Lane seems to me was designed with BBQ Fest in mind.
