Just got off the phone with dad. It's currently 2:09 AM EDT. He's at the Kennedy Space Center. In two hours, barring any mechanical or weather related screwups, he'll be at the VIP viewing area to see Space Shuttle Endeavour's final launch. The shuttle is scheduled to liftoff at 7:56 Central, 8:56 Eastern.
Just had to brag a little. He loves that stuff and this will be the second time he has seen a shuttle go up. I was with him the first time to see an Atlantis launch. With the program ending he wanted to see one more before the vehicles are put on display.

That is so cool. I got to watch it's first launch (from a lot further away). I am so glad he is getting to watch a part of history up close and personal.
