Man has been saving his money and came up with about half so I paid the rest and got him a battery powered rc car.

Sucker is pretty cool too. \:D

I need to find me one now.

Wish I could find a gas powered one real cheap. \:D

You get started im that stuff and it starts to add up to a lot of money.

I order models and paints online and get several catalogs with all kinds of RC cars and planes. It's CHEAPER to stick with hunting.

Yeah and I am sure he will only want $8,000 for it since it is so much better than anything else you can buy. ;\)

spit,
The one man got is a Traxxis too.
Kinda messed up though, you charge it for 6 hours then get to run it for 20 minutes. \:\)

He said you can get another battery and actually run both on it and it will last longer and increase the speed from 30 to 60 mph.

That is the first step before you will want to try planes \:\) Last Sunday I was flying for the first time a RC Guys 1/3 scale Pitts - http://www.rcguys.com/S1Pitts.htm Gas engine quit on me about 2 minutes into the flight. I was doing pretty good had plenty of room to make a dead stick landing (made several on other planes) All at once it snapped on me and spun-in over a group of trees. I knew I was going to pick up about $1400.00 worth of tooth picks.

So several of us went over to where we saw it go in, couldnt find it. So we got to looking up in the trees. Sure enough there it was about 35' up. Still in tack. One of the club memebers went and got a chain saw, and cut the tree down, it feel slowly and laid it down very easy.

Checked it over and flew it twice more after that.

Here is a picture of the plane

My boy sold his Traxxis Truck a couple of months back on craigs list for something like $200. It had under 2 hours run time. Phone and email lit up like crazy the minute he posted.

THAT'S the reason I never tried to get in the RC hobby. I know once I got hooked I would go all out and spend too much.

I am with you on the planes Allen. I have been flying them since I was 13. I enjoy the big scale planes like that Pitt. but all I really fly now is 3D profiles. I used to have a couple 50cc 3D planes but never had time to make it to the field. So now I just whoop them out and fly the profiles at the house.

Ruger, Man can get a Lipo battery for that car and it will run for about 20 minutes and depends on what size and charger you get they will charge in about 45 minutes or less. That is what I use on my electric planes. I have about 3 batts for every setup and usually can fly solid with having 1 on charge will i am flying.

http://www.valuehobby.com
http://www.hobbyking.com

are 2 good sites for cheap lipo batts.

If you get a lipo you have to make sure to get a charger though because they have to be balanced when charged and those batts can get dangerous. I ran one through a prop one time and you would have thought it was a real plane crashing with the smoke and fire it made.

Ruger - Best place to get batteries is Hobby King, they are in Hong Kong, you can't beat their prices. When I was flying RC Heli's they were battery and this is where I ordered mine from.

One of the guys in our club flys the profiles.

I like getting them out and twist them around in the air.

I've had several savages and tmax gas trucks, they are very fast and much more durable than the rest, that being said the savage is better all around than the rest of the field!

I order some stuff from Hobby King. But get most of it from Value hobbies. they are in Illinois and have the almost the same pricing as HK. You should try the electric out Allen. I am very serously thinking of going all electric on 60 size and under.

Didnt know about Value Hobbies will have to keep them in mind.

I started back in planes with electric, went to glo now just about all gas.

Ruger - You will have fun with RC, where it is Cars, planes. It is a way to get away from everything else.
