The one on the right scored 125 5/8 gross. I scored that deer.

The one on the left was a much nicer deer, but one side was smaller. It scored 133 5/8 gross. Ray scored that one at the club that day.

The nicer deer (on the left) not only scored much higher but ,in person, you can easily see that he was a larger (body) deer. His head is bigger than the other deer, even though neither deer are "small".

I'd like to once again thank Chase Hamilton for helping me get one of those deer out. The second deer I got out by myself.

Great experiences that I'll never forget.

yes he did. He's done six of my eleven mounts. I wish i had been using him exclusively. he's really good.

I really like Buddy. We talked abit while I was there and I asked him about his health and what the future might bring. he said that he feels fine and hopes to keep doing this for years to come. He'll turn 77 before the season rolls around again.

He said that it's a full time job!! I've taken him deer early in bow season and had them back before the season ended. These two deer were both taken the same day, in mid-December and I got them back mid-May, so that's pretty quick. he stopped doing other game years ago. he now just does deer.

I hope he sticks around, he's a nice guy and does great work, imo.

I have 11 deer mounted, eight came from Chaney. I have a skull mount out by the pool that came off Chaney as well. One mount came from another club way back in 1988 and the other was a very nice bow kill from my DOE FARM that I am allowed to hunt for free. And yet another was a bow kill from my brother-in-law's farm that he has since sold.

Here are eight of them. The one on the top right end is the bow kill from the DOE FARM.

The one on the bottom, just to the right of the turkey was my second ever bow kill taken on my brother-in-law's farm quite a few years ago.

The one in the center, directly above the trukey was the 1988 deer. This mount got burned in a house fire and I had to get another cape for it. It sustained some damage but the taxidermist did a nice job saving it. Another deer that is not pictured was totally destroyed in the fire (my first ever deer kill). I was very lucky to save the one that I did.

The rest of the deer on that wall are from Chaney.

The second and third picture is another deer from Chaney. My best at 148 and some change. The pictures don't do this deer justice. Many people tell me that he is much more impressive in person. Ray and Bunk helped me get him out and I will always be grateful for that.

Like I said before, I have a euro (skull)mount at the pool that came from down there and another set of antlers (from 2009)that I still have not done anything with. Once my room is finished, I plan to design some sort of tribute to that deer.

I hope to add a Hatchie Refuge monster to this bunch in 2011. A 130 plus bow kill from down there would be a nice addition, don't you think...?

Awesome bucks BH, thanks for sharing. Seems you've had some fine hunting over the years. Hopefully one day ill have that many nice bucks on the wall. Right now ive got an 8pt that scored 120, a crazy non typical 13pt on the wall that i wouldnt have a clue how to score, a 115" 9pt euro mounted and a 130" 8pt coming from the taxidermist anyday now.

I love that aggressive look on that bottom pic, the 13pt i have mounted is like that but not turned as much as yours.

great bucks man, if your like me you probably look at them almost everyday and can remember just about every thing from the hunts no matter how long ago it was,

I am indeed fortunate to have had the success that I have. I made a few mistakes along the way but that's just the way it goes. I hit but did not recover the largest buck I have ever seen (on Chaney). I am sure that he survived because if anyone found him it would be known, believe me. The shot was high in the back with very little penetration....I believe the broadhead tip had come off in the quiver. true story, and very sad. A five yard shot at a MONSTER non-typical is hard to imagine ever happening again....

My only other regret is that I didn't join Chaney earlier in my career. All of these deer came in 11 years. I have no way of knowing for sure, but in my mind, if I had joined 20 plus years ago, I'd probably be broke from taxidermist's bills...lol.

Until I joined Chaney, I hunted small farms and only a couple of years were spent in clubs larger than 250 acres. I had a dry spell, during my earlytwenties when deer hunting took a back seat to.....well, you know!! LOL. No regrets, just missed years...

I've always enjoyed being out of sight and hearing distance of most people. That's why I'm not so much into "social" hunting. The quiet brings me a kind of joy that i can never explain.....

thanks
