A person can leave his DNA or ever his fingerprints somewhere MONTHS BEFORE the crime took place.

If YOU go eat at Cracker Barrel with your family on Jan 1, 2011 and a murder takes place in the same restaurant on the night of May 13, 2011. That very night YOU was fishing by yourself and nobody was around nor saw YOU at any time after YOU left the house until YOU returned 4 hours later. But YOUR DNA and fingerprints where found at the crime site.

The machine says YOU are guilty of Capital Murder

I'd say our system's pretty dang lenient if you ask me. I would like to know how many innocent lives have been lost due to criminals being exonerated by our legal system, only to repeat later down the road, vs lives loss due to wrongfull convictions.

My guess is far more have died because criminals are set free,
as opposed to those dieing because they were wrongfully convicted.

At least new forensic methods and tools are being developed and incorporated that will undoubtedly eliminate a lot of the guesswork, thus leading to fewer "unjust" convictions, and the freeing of those who are wrongfully imprisoned.

I also have a problem with catering to, and feeding, a convicted murderer for the rest of his life at the taxpayers expense.

It surely could use some tweaking (which is happening), but untill a poor man gets the same representation that a rich man is afforded, it'll never be fair..... it is what it is.
