I've got a friend that was talking about these. Pretty cool. He was having a '51 coin done for his father in law, since thats the yr he was born. I think there's a place around here that does them, but thats not local for youl.

Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code, defacement, mutilating, cutting, disfiguring, perforating, uniting or cementing together any bank bill, draft, note or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such items unfit to be reissued, shall be fined and/or imprisoned for up to six months.
Under what authority?
Begs the question, "Who's money is it?". If you have earned the dollar and received it as payment for services or product, the money is YOURS. If it's illegal to deface or destroy the money then it's obviously not yours after all.
So, who owns your money? You, the Federal reserve or the Federal Government?
If you don't own your own money then what' stopping either of the other two from confiscating it at will?
