I might buy a cheap bolt action rifle soon to transfer my scope to from my 30-30 so I can put a ghost ring sight on the 30-30. Question is, should I get the seemingly-popular .270 or should I get the rugged, powerful .308? or maybe a 7mm magnum?

I went from .270 to a 7mag. I LOVE the mag. BUT the .270 was very efficient also.

308 is available in shorter, lighter rifles(short action) 270 is long action you can't go wrong with either. got no use for 7mag.
