I have a riding mower that was doing fine when I parked it last year. Engine runs like a top now but it will not go into any gear. I am at a loss. All the belts are on and tension is good. I for the life of me can not figure this one out.
It is a Poulan Pro 20 hp 50" cut.Mod prgt20h50. Can't find a dang thing on the net when I search it. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! My yard is looking like a tropical forest and the wife is on my arz.

belt drive or hydostatic, if hydo make sure its not disengaged, look under the seat should be a lever that has to be moved to push it.

Ok the brake peddle will not disengage all the way an engage the drive line pulley. dont know why it wont come back. I checked the brake lock and it is disengaged. Guess I will have to drop the deck in the morning. Further proof if it has breasts or tires it is gonna cause you problams.

Mine has a switch in back to engage transmission. If you don't engage it you can put it in gear and it will not move.

Check partstree.com They have schematics for just about everything. you can start from there and see if anything has locked up or is missing.

sounds like the hydro relief valve is not engaged for mowing. if it is dis engaged it wont go anywhere at all. Also on some models the parking break can Stick to the break pad and wont release. spray it with Wd 40 and then depress the brake rapidly to try to flip it loose. hope this helps.
