A year ago Saturday, I could not even walk. I weighed less than 140 pounds and was so weak, I could not open a jar of mustard.
This Saturday, weather permitting, I will walk. I say WALK... 5K. That is 3.2 miles, I think. It is a charity deal and I will not be competing with anyone but me. My goal is to do it under 43:00. That is just over a 14 minute per mile pace. (Before I got sick, I could walk five miles in under an hour. Those days are gone.)
I'm just doing it for the heck of it and for the charity. However it has given me something to shoot for. Yesterday, in "training", I did three miles in 43:17. I think I can trim a little off that. I weigh 168 and feel great. Long way to come in a year.

what were you sick with by the way?
It would take four pages and a week of writing to explain what all was wrong with me. I had 10 doctors that didn't even know for sure. I still have some of whatever it is but I'm beating it like a brush fire, if I just don't stub my toe.
