Not sure how many will be interested when you don't even know if you will get drawn. I've heard it takes about three years to draw a tag in IA.

Bow tags are harder to come by than shotgun/muzzleloader tags. Alot of folks have preference points already and that makes some folks very confident in getting a tag.

And just where is Henry County IA? Son, you aint exactly much help. NW-SW-Central-SE, Close to Des Moines, west of Davenport, just outside Hamburg, near Grinell?
You ever been to this place, seen it know anything about it?

Certain zones aren't worth hunting even if you have a resident license! Might be why he asked being more familur with the western part of the state.

That wouldn't happen to be the Tonch Heartsill property would it? I heard that place may be for sale. If it is the area around Mt. Pleasant, it can be great. I have hunted there many years. It will all just depend on the specific piece of property. Some have deer, some don't. As a rule, it will take three points to draw a bow tag there. I was always able to get a late mzl tag and most years could draw a bow tag. But that was before it got so "hot".
BTW- Was asking for the benefit of others. I'll never hunt IA again, hunted there for close to 20 years. As some stated, parts of IA are no better than the parking lot at Kroger. I would assume many on here are not at all familiar with IA and might like to get an idea of where the property is. I am quite familiar with zone 6.

If your intentions were to help kldeerkiller,then why didnt you just come out and say where zone 6 is,instead of asking him twice where it was?Looks like you were trying to make him look bad.Son,if you aint interested in hunting Iowa just stay out of this gentlemans thread.
