i wouldnt worry about carbs so much. The easiest thing to do is figure out how many calories you burn a day. Then make sure you take in less than what you burn. The result is weight loss!

Lots of good info. Another thing to remember is to eat according to your day. Usually more carbs early and less later in the day. The amount you take in should be proportional to your physical activities. Just remember that everybody is different so the way one person lost a lot of weight might not work for the next.

I was gonna say Cheerios.
I still love them, plain with some milk. Except I eat the organic version from Publix which is pretty much the same without any preservative. Not a huge cereal fan anymore but sometimes a bowl of cheerios with milk is so good.

snacks are very important
they keep your metabolism elevated and that keeps your body operating as a calorie burning machine
lulls in activity or food intake slow metabolism down
with snacks, utilize a mid morning snack and a mid afternoon snack of about 150-200 calories each. And try either a protein or fruit snack.
I'll do a cheese stick for a 10am break, and sometimes a few sticks of peanut butter/celery.
Mid afternoon, a banana,cantelope wedge,lite syrup peach cup,fresh strawberries,-something like that
the wife has been picking a gallon of fresh strawberries every couple of days here lately at the truck patch up the road.

I saw the smart phone app thread and got me thinking. Y'all that are tryin to lose weight or "be healthier" check out this app for the iphone (not sure about android)...It's called "my fitness pal" helps you keep track of calories taken in and burned pretty neat. Once you start seeing just how many calories are in some of the food you eat it makes you change your tune pretty quick

Interesting, I did not know that. I guess it's the late night snacks that kill. Your metabolism is shutting down for bed by that time.
However I'd rather eat a peach then lite syrup peach cup. Just sayin.. Peaches have enough sugars on their own. And you can never, never, never go wrong with a slice of cantaloupe. They are so friggin good... and healthy. I could eat a whole one any time. That's why a good portion of my garden has cantaloupes (and honeydew) planted. Nothing better. I'll bring a pocket knife and eat one right in the garden sometimes.
