My one and only is there as well. I know how bad it hurts, and sometimes seems as though it will never go away.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragement. Death, as we all know, has no respect or person. Young or old, rich or poor, black or white, it doesn't matter. What matters is the condition of your heart when you breathe your last breath, imo. Shannon was my actually my step-son, but his mother and I was married when he was 6, and we had a great relationship. As he got older, he would refer to me as, "old man." The Sunday prior to his accident, and subsequent death, he was standing in church with his arms raised, praising the God that he loved. I know where he is, and like King David said when his son died; "he cant come to me, but I can go to him."
