I hate ticks. I have already got several off of myself this year.

I found one where no guy should ever find a tick. Just be glad you aren't female. Just sayin'.

My wife is currently being treated for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. The medicines all have lots of side effects & make her feel bad themselves but are by far the lesser of two evils.

I don't know how long it had been on there. I got worried and went to the doctor as I had a little itching. I figured my doctor would take a look at it and maybe prescribe some antibiotics as a precaution.
Nope, two NURSES come and one inspects (ahem) my boys, (shining a flashlight on them and poking and prodding) while the other one is holding a sheet in case someone walks in. For some reason, FUBAR's classic story came to mind at this point. The nurse says I got the tick just in time, as there's no bull-eye ring.
THEN the doctor comes in the room--with the nurse--and he has a look, with he and the nurse inspecting and poking and prodding them like a science experiment. Again, the conclusion was that they didn't see any a bite or bulls-eye, and said I pulled it off just in time. Doc told me that if I felt like I had the flu, I needed to call him. That was back in early April. So far, I've been ok, with the exception of a little itching from time to time.

That is the reason I ALWAYS wear my rhino skin clothing during turkey and archery seasons.
I also spray my clothes.
Knock on wood...I've only had 1 tick embedded in 33 years of hunting.

Rhino skin clothing is worth the money and hassle during tick season. I got one embedded on my leg from a March work trip to IL. The doc didn't like the looks of the bite site, so I did a dose of doxycillen.
Tick borne diseases are nothing to take lightly.

I blame it on that patchy facial hair.

I got one one me the first weekend of turkey season and came down with southern tick fever. Got sick as a dog. Started the Dioxicilin or whatever it's called. I was back to normal in a day or two, but took the medicine for 2 weeks.

And I bet you went "Nurse Shopping" before you decided which Dr. to go see!
