Man has been lucky through his school so far, he is in the 8th grade and this year was the first time we have had problems with a teacher.

The way I look at it is school teachers have a tough job and there are an awful lot of great ones out there but just like any profession, there are some that just suck at it.

I feel that if I send a polite and well behaved child to school and help him all I can with his homework I have done my part for his education.

Throughout his school career I feel I have done that, especially when teachers openly brag about him and one teacher that has taught for over 40 years says to a mutual friend that he is "the most well behaved child she has ever taught" he is not all bad for sure.

I am not blind to the fact that I even pretend my son is perfect but I am not ashamed to say I am VERY proud of him.

ANYWAY, I have made three trips to school, written letters to the principal and the school board and TRIED to meet with the teacher and principal together numerous times but it never worked out.

When a teacher tells me that my son didn't do homework and got zeros for it and then I go to her class and all of a sudden the work "appears" out of nowhere, and this story is common with several parents, well something is wrong.

About all I know is nobody has ever talked down to me and downgraded my son to my face for no reason and did not bleed for their troubles.

She was the exception, but her "contract" or whatever teachers have that go year to year was not "renewed" or whatever they call that.

After 8 more days she won't have a job.
I hate she doesn't have a job but in all honesty, I don't feel she needs one in the teaching profession anyway.

Guess it wasn't all in my head afterall.

Sounds like the problem was taken care of. No need for you to worry with it anymore.

Glad to hear it. Sounds like the Principal didn't turn a blind eye to the situation.

Honestly, I think he tried to but the sheer volume and ridiculous nature of the things that were happening just simply made it impossible for him to overlook.

Sorry to hear you and your son had to go thru that.

Just like outher professions, there are some bad teachers that do not need to be in that line of work. \:\(

There are some very good teachers, OK to mediocre teachers, & very bad quality teachers. I'm glad this worked out & you kept the pressure. We had some great teachers & some very bad teachers when RR was in school, & the horrible teachers were pains - no contact, & school administration didn't want to fool with it until they were forced.
