A couple weeks ago when the bad storms rolled through my part of the world (on a Monday night) it did a little damage but mostly we escaped anything bad.

It did blow garbage cans, trampolines and trees around and down however.

Our preacher went somewhere and bought some "JESUS" signs that he saw somewhere.
They are the plastic type cardboard things with wires in each side to stick in the ground.

My father-in-law has one in his front yard.
He had crap blowed everywhere, limbs down and the whole nine yards.

He thought about his sign and how the preacher had kinda got onto people from the pulpit the Sunday before and asked them if they were going to have the signs to mow around them and make sure they were upright etc.

He walked out to the front of his house and saw the sign, planted firmly and perfectly upright as if nothing had passed through there.

Kind of a neat point that no matter what Jesus is there, strong and straight.

Anyway there ya go.

you hear about stuff like this a lot and it makes the hair on my arms stand up it is so cool.

there was an AWESOME picture a few years ago from Clarksville after the tornado went through downtown. It was of the front of a church that was that had HUGE stained glass windows showing various biblical figures in it. All the builds around the church were torn to ruble as well as the church itself but the giant stain glass windows on the front wall of the church were still standing and not a single piece of glass was broken. really powerful and awesome picture. If i can find it i will post it.

Ok along those lines.
Before and shortly after I was married I was going to my wife's church.
On mother's day one year we had a bad storm and lightning struck the church and it burned to the ground early that Sunday morning.

Complete and total loss, everything was gone.

After the flames were put out the preacher was just standing there in the street looking at the rubble and the wind picked up and a sheet of paper blew by and came to rest at his feet.

It was 3/4 of one page out of a hymnal.
The rest of the page had been burned away.

The top of the page read:
"Rock of Ages"

True story.
Page is framed in the hall of the new church.
