The egress openings in coliseums and major indoor arenas are called vomitories. That is the way they are referred to on blueprints and seating diagrams.
So we are sitting in the empty Pontiac Silver Dome in MI. Handfull of cowboys and a couple barrel racers. The rest are just schmoozing and I am working on a seating diagram to scale the ticket prices. I start cussing.
"What are you so upset about?" Says one fo the cowboys, though not exactly in those terms. I replied the dang vomitories are messing everything up. They are a lot bigger than they appear.
It just ocurred to me, I can't finish this humorous story without getting banned.

Why would a egress want anything to do with a vomitory in an arena? I saw several hundred white ones this morning fishing in the backwater. There was a couple on a floating barrel that looked like they was rode hard and put up wet.

Hawk- Those weren't egress, they were black Crowned Night Herons. Unlike the egress, they keep what they eat down and don't need a vomitory.
