This is 100% true. Some of you may know John Bubba” Phillips, the outdoor writer from Birmingham, AL. His son-in-law is an ER doc in B’ham. This is his story.
He is up to h is elbows the night of the tornados. Guy come in on a stretcher and is just regaining conciouness. Guy looks around. “Where am I?” He is told and just shakes his head. “I was asleep on the couch with my dog. Birmingham…expletive…I live in Tuscaloosa!”
EMT says, “We found him lying on a couch 21 miles northeast of Tuscaloosa. No dog around.”
Guy had a big bruise on his head but not much other damage. Dog was found two days later in the same area.
True story.

Call all you want. It is not my story. I do know some TV folks are talking to him. I also know his house is totally gone...as in not there anymore. Just gone.

Not John's story, but strange nonetheless. I spoke with a service manager in Birmingham last week. One of his technicians found a letter in his yard from Tuscaloosa.
