Bill Wallace was a doped up crazy killer in one of Chuck Norris' movies. Can't remember the title of it right now.

How many times did Chuck Norris fight Joe Lewis ?
Who won those fights ?
I don't recall how many times they fought, but I know Chuck won several of those matches. However, they were point style ,sport karate matches, early in their careers, and not professional full contact. Chuck never went on to fight full contact, like Joe,and Bill. I competed several states in point style matches, and won State championship in my class 2 years. You are awarded a point if the judges rule you scored with a light contact technique to a vital area.
Most of the matches consist of one 2 minute round, and the competitor with the most points wins that match, then fights others until he loses or wins his class. In point karate the object is not to knock out your opponent, and you could even get disqualified for doing so. Not to say they didn't get rough, and heated at times.
Full contact professional was a whole different level. Only the best of the best have the skill, and can take the punishment. I have competed against some talented, very bad dudes, and none I know of ever made it to full contact Pro.
BTW, I'm not trying to discredit Chuck Norris. I have his book, and have admired him for years, just setting the record straight. Chuck gets much more publicity, and attention, because of his actor status.

I understand your points, just adding some to it. Chuck is older than both of them. Joe was largely responsible for introducing full contact karate.
When it was taking off, Chuck was winding down. I do not believe he would have had any problem competing in full contact.
He does get a lot of acting credits and attention, but most all of that came after he had retired from karate competition.
When he and Joe fought, though it was point style, had it been full contact, the contact would have still existed in my opinion.
They fought 4 times with Chuck winning first three and Joe winning the last one.
I just feel due to his acting, a lot is forgotten of Chuck's fighting time during which, full contact was non-existent.
Also, in those early years, even point style had less padding and was more intense.
Wallace is 61 Lewis is 67 Norris is 71
Chuck's last recorded fight was in 1972 and full contact was not introduced until 1974.
Just my opinion though and I have always admired all 3 of them.
In their prime. I would not have placed a bet on any one of them.

Rutman, I agree. Bruce Lee, and Chuck Norris have done more for karate in the U.S. than anyone I can think of. I believe Chuck would have done well in full contact if had chosen to. And, he wouldn't have fought Joe Louis, as he was a heavyweight.
I was competing in the late 80's, early 90's and it was still pretty intense. In black belt divisions, it was not uncommon to see several knockouts, or broken bones. But, officials were pretty quick to step in and stop the match, or disqualify the competitor. Kicks and punches to the head were still allowed then, but have been pretty much banned in tournaments today.
One of the more overlooked aspects of the martial arts ,is the knowledge of holds, and nerve center-pressure points. I trained with several masters that were very proficient in these techniques. One was a former Secret Service Agent, and he had black belts in 3, or 4 different styles.
In self defense demos, this guy could grab you, apply pressure to a nerve center, and have you on your knees begging for mercy. These guys could end a fight without ever throwing a punch. This is the ultimate goal for a dedicated martial artist, that few ever achieve.

I watched several Lewis/Wallace fights on youtube...both men are pretty tough.
