I keep an eye on my landowner's cows and fences while I'm hunting. I came over a hill this morning and this dude is crouched in the grass watching the cows. He takes off just as I get him in my scope. I think to myself "he better not stop and look back". He did just that. The extended range 5's put a hurt on him at 40 yards.

good shootin, but i doubt the cows were in any danger. i have had them lay down by my calves in the past and never bother them. just waiting for one to take a dump, so they could clean up

I think you are right redblood. My landowner says that they won't bother a cow unless they are very hungry and there is no other food available. But he also fears that there are too many in the area and wants me to do what I can to thin them out. Yesterday he told me he had 2 brand new calves born on Thursday. That was my first thought when I saw him watching the cows.
