I went to Home Depot this morn to get some supplies & got to talkin to a lady who said her home had been destroyed & there were lots of trees down. Got some contact info & when I get done helpin some friends with their trees, I am plannin to go & help her. After she left, I got to thinkin. So, I went to the store Mgr. & told them they should put up a sign or a paper where folks who are needin help can write there name & contact info. That way when folks that are wantin to help but don't know who to help, can see the names on the list & get connected with em. I encourage ya'll to get with your local hardware stores & encourage them to have a place where folks in need can sign up. God Bless Ya'll! Now let's go run a chainsaw & do some good.

good idea....

My mom has four or five HUGE trees in her yard that need cutting down simply because of all the leaves and limbs falling etc. She can't afford to pay anyone to cut them.....

I figured someone would do it for the wood, but I guess not.

I always wondered what they do with the wood after they come charge a couple of thousand to cut a tree down and haul it off??

I guess they sell it? I have no idea.

Depends on the genus of the tree. If its a silver maple or something it's not worth anything.

But a black cherry or black walnut would be worth a lot.

Problem being liability. Who pays if a tree falls the wrong way and takes out a house?

Yeah, I hear ya on the liability part. I was mainly talkin about trees that had been knocked down by the tornados here in Bradley Co. Some of us old school guys would never try to claim something on someone else's insurance by helpin em out but I do understand there are folks like that. Legal junk sux!
