I have taken a break from tndeer for the last few weeks.
Just havent been feeling too well.
Had another scan a couple of weeks ago and the results
were not good.
The chemo I have been taken for the last 2 years has just
quit working on the cancer. It has been keeping in in check
and not letting it spread anywhere and the oncologist said
as long as it was doing that, we would keep on with it. But,
he said at the get go that one day we would have to explore
more options as the cancer would get used to it and more
agressive.
Nothing like sitting in the Doctors office and hearing the
words " there is nothing else we can do for you "
Wow, wasnt expecting that. It has spread to several other places
along with some lymph nodes, and nothing they have will work.
I ask my doctor what he would do. He suggested M.D. Anderson
treatment center in Houston. That is where he would go if it
were him.
So I filled out an application 2 weeks ago and got accepted there
I will be going to Houston on May 19th to start a new journey.
They are a clinical and experimental hospital that offers much
more that UT medical.
It has really got me down a bit. Anytime a man faces his mortality he puts things in perspective as to what is
important in life.
I dont know where this will take me but I know Im not alone
Not really asking for a healing but for God to give me
grace thru this time.
I am really in pain, only sleeping a few hours a night and
an losing weight.
So to my tndeer family, I am asking for a few prayers. Me and
my family really need them right now.

Prayers for strength and peace for you and your family. No matter the final outcome of this journey you are on, it will not be easy.
Miracles still do happen. The husband of the pianist at my church was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and renal failure last summer. He is in his early 80's, and the consensus of the first, second, and third Dr. opinions was that even with aggressive chemotherapy and supportive treatment he would be lucky to make it 6 months. The treatments he had been taking for several months just about killed him themselves. Two months ago the Drs. could find no trace of cancer in his body, and his kidney function is normal. The Drs. have absolutely no explanation for why he is still alive, let alone cancer free with functioning kidneys. He told them why - sincere intercessory prayers, love and support from his church family and by the grace of God. Sadly, not everyone will have this outcome, but this man is living proof that miracles can and do still happen.

They are a great group of folks out there and the have made great strides in the treatment of his cancer. If you would like to talk to him about the treatment he has recieved, just let me know. I can arrange it. He lives just off of upper river road south of Charleston.

I am sorry to hear this news Jeff. My heart and mind go out to you in this time of transition. If you need help I am here, if you need anything I am here for you. Although I will pray for a complete and speedy recovery, I will also pray you will be able to handle all this with grace. I think that will be an easy thing for you to achieve because your life is full of grace and dignity already.
In the heat of battle the following question was asked of General Nathan Bedford Forrest:

I have a bro in law and co worker both with lieukemia. Both have been to MD Anderson. Both have had quality life extended and both are working now. Neither is cured but their quality of life has been much better , for now anyway.

I Truely hate to hear you got that news,reading it brings back some memories that...well... nobody should ever have to hear.
Mom cut out a pic. ad of a sign in a catalog still have it on the refridge, read it everytime I open the door... a bit before she an we got the same news, it Reads- "If God Brings you to it He will bring you through it"
There is good news in that bad news you got and that is M.D. Anderson. They never mentioned them to Mom saying there wasn't anything anyone could do includeing them when we did ask.. So Brother the way I read it the Lord ain't done with you by a long shot.Keep the Faith and Never give up.

These days we are so connected with so much media, its amazing something like this could happen and we miss it.
