it has been almost a month since i done the class and got fingerprinted, so i thought i would call the number and get the staus and the lady says she doesnt even see my application on file yet.. you must have just applied she says.... ya like a month ago.. ... sure would help if these govt workers got paid for what they did instead of hourly...

Yep, you all need to get busy with legislation that limits the amount of time they have to process and issue the permit. They did that in GA and it sped up the process by MONTHs!! Took me 8 days to get mine after applying, some smaller counties you can walk in and walk out with it down here. The real anger maker is the fact that they have the information back about 2 minutes after they send the fingerprints if its done electronicly!! The rest of the time is foot dragging.......

Here in Ky in the low population counties you can walk in and walk out with your new permit with your photo on it and everything. Takes less than an hour.

Took me about 6 weeks total in Louisville. Seems like a long drawn out process for something that is basically pass/fail.

Entry level government workers are processing your application. It takes awhile...

You are the first person I've ever heard that has had such an encounter. Perhaps you could find out what is missing. Maybe the fingerprinting agency didn't forward your prints in a timely manner.....Those women are diligent, and very friendly everytime I have to deal with them. Be patient, it takes time.
