I have a sendaro 300wm that I will use for elk mainly. I have been looking at a nikon monarch gold with the bdc reticle. I'm looking to keep the cost under a grand. If anyone has any experience with the monarch golds or any suggestions that would be good pleas let me know.

Take a look at the Minox ZA5 3-15. It is an awesome scope. Crystal clear optics, bright, huge eye relief and very light weight.

THe Monarchs are the worst scope in that price range. I don't think you can go wrong with a VX-3 or Ziess.

The Monarch Gold is a far superior scope to the Monarch.
