my girlfriend and i consulted the a U.T. extension agent about the best thing to plant for horse pasture and he said you cant beat fescue 131. good amount of protein and very hardy. we do lime every other year in the fall and fertilizer in spring. good luck
That agent should be fired for the reason he don't know his job. As stated fescue cause a mare not to come to milk and birth complications.
