Well that all depends, on what season it is. I have, over the years customized several packs for the different seasons. blackpowder, archery, gun seasons. I picked up a couple really nice 3 compartment hippacks at Wal-Mart a few yrs back,(@ 9x9x4)I put a knife, drag rope, flashlight, ziplocks, zipties, latex gloves, compass, and any season related item in that specific pack.
I have two for the gun season, a small one for those quick afternoon outting and a larger (oversized fanny pack w/ suspender type & belt fasteners) for the all day ventures.
Always drop a ziplock in each one w/ baby wipes (they last a whole season if I don't use them first)
I carry a old scratched CD in the day pack, they work great as a signaling mirror if ever needed.
fulldrawxx75 trailmix and a few

All of the above plus a GPS.........and it changes depending on the season Like now turkey stuff, later deer stuff. I need another pack for decoys

Like most I carry more than I need. I think the longer we hunt the more 'stuff' we need to take with us. Let me tell this one. Years ago me and two friends went on our first mule deer hunt in Colorado. The outfitter had sent a list of what we needed to bring. The first morning we were getting ready to leave and one of my friends comes out with this backpack filled to the brim. Outfitter looks and pack and says Joe we will be back tonight. It looks like you have packed for 2 or 3 days.

Like some of the other guys i taylor my packs to the season. I hve one for bow, muzzleloader and gun. I carry gloves, face mask when cold, of course the necessities such as knives, zip ties, electrical tape for you never know what. Extra pins for the deer climber in case i lose or drop one. I have found over the years that i usually carry a few things too much. It is amazing how even a 20 oz coke is a rediculous bit of extra weight. I keep the binos ie 8x42 steiner merlins around my neck and a nikon range finder also. I usually try to keep a snack such as crackers or moon pie or oatmeal cookie for later in the morning to keep me preoccupied in case the action is slow.
