I would consider the Muck boots but I like to tuck my pants legs down in my boots. Aren't the top of the Muck boots too small to do this??

Nope... they neoprene on top and the roll up and down over your pants... Neoprene also stretches.... One of the easiest boots to tuck your pants into...

I have never rolled mine down and have never had a problem sliding my leg (with multiple layers) down inside the boots.
The top edge of the boots are finished off nicely and actually hug your leg to seal out bugs and debris.

I agree with everyone here about the Mucks. I bought a pair this year after wearing Danner's for several years. I still like my Danner's butthe Mucks are so much warmer and comfortable. A co-worker transferred here from Alaska and he said most of the state troopers there wore them.

Thanks FDXX75. That has been my only concern. Think I will try a pair out. Who has the best price on the woody max or the elite, anybody know? Gator-n-Buck... will have them shipped right out to you too. Ditto That's who I purchased mine from, the transaction was excellent and the so is the product. FDXX75
X3... bought Elites and would again. Bought Woody Max for step-son and he loves em. GatornBuck has best price hands down.

Muck boots all the way. I wear a good par of liner socks and then Red head lifetime socks and feet haven't been cold yet.

Can't go wrong with Muck Boot Co boots. On my second pair. My father-in-law is in like his 8th year in his. Just hard to beat em. With that said, I tried on a pair of LaCrosse at Gander Mountain just for giggles. They were the Alpha Lite 5mm 18" rubber boots. And actually, their design of the "sport fit" which essentially conforms the fit of the boots to your ankles made them a better feel to me than my Mucks. They don't slip a bit. Go figure, huh. I am actually hoping I get enough gift cards for x-mas to pick me up a pair of them. I just can't justify spending the $120 out of my own pocket to get em after just picking up my new Mucks a month ago.

To the Muck owners....after talking to a fellow TnDeer member today I've decided to look into a pair of Mucks with the side zipper. Overall do they fit snug? Typically on a hunting boot I go 1/2 size larger just wondering how these fit.
I typically wear a size 12 in almost all footwear. The only exception being my Justin work boots which are 13. Anyway, the first pair of Muck boots I bought were a 13 but I had to take them back, they were a bit big. The 12 was perfect, as it should have been.

Don't know too much about the side zippers though lol.
